The First Zero-recoil Machine Gun

Introducing zero-recoil technology
How camera-like can a machine gun shoot? We have been trying to find out. I am very proud to introduce our first zero-recoil machine gun*, a technology demonstrator. It is a submachine gun/machine pistol featuring zero recoil, reduced vibration and rapid firing at 1200 rounds/minute.
For an acid test, we mounted the recoilless submachine gun on a consumer camera gimbal and shot the gun just like shooting a camera. The result can be seen in the video (playback at ½ speed). A little wobble but it hit the target and stuck the landing, all on a flimsy little gimbal! Yes!! Not a 10 but, Buddy, that rookie has got potential! Although I had been dreaming of a machine gun blasting away on a free-standing camera gimbal since day one of this project, experiencing one in real still felt unreal!
Much needs to be done. Having exited feasibility phase, we are hard at work developing improvements and applications. In an upcoming post, I will discuss an interesting application we are working on.
The emergence of recoilless machine guns should not be overlooked. Continued inaction carries very undesirable risks.
