A Flying Recoilless Machine Gun

Competitive Edge

What can a recoilless machine gun do to an unmanned weapon system?

By eliminating recoil, a recoilless automatic firearm permits a robotic warrior(a robot bird or dog, for example) to maintain a stable cone of fire. This ability transforms the weapon holder from a sniper/sharp-shooter into a skilled machine gunner (time to brush up on your Machine Gunnery Theory?). An example is shown in the video of a drone armed with our zero-recoil submachine gun (see the video on our home page). No more hiccups during gun fire!

In this respect, the transformation to be brought by a recoilless machine gun to a robotic warrior could be compared to the transformation brought to a human warrior by a Maxim machine gun. In both cases, the firing power effectively wielded by the warrior is drastically increased.

In a previous blog posted in January of 2023, I warned "The emergence of recoilless machine guns should not be overlooked. Continued inaction carries very undesirable risks." Now that China's military has also entered the race (https://www.scmp.com/news/china/science/article/3287631/chinese-scientists-build-recoilless-ak-47-can-be-wielded-almost-any-drone), the risks seem even more real.

Will the military of the United States take notice and action?
